Back to Sermon Notes

Easter Sunday! What an incredible day to celebrate what we as believers get to live in every day, the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.

I love what Paul says in 1 Cor 15:1-6 “Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.”

This is a day that most unbelievers say they would attend church … IF they were invited.  What an opportunity! So what can we do to see our unsaved friends, family, co-workers, and school friends come to Christ over this time?

1. Pray.

Pray for people that you are trusting to come to Christ, BY NAME. Start by making a list, then bring them before The Lord in prayer, asking him to soften and prepare their hearts to receive Him as Lord and Savior.

2. Invest some time.

Do your best to get coffee or a meal with them in the next few weeks leading up to Easter. Trust God for an opportunity to share Christ with them, and invite them to church on Easter Sunday.

3. Invite them to join you

Offer to meet for coffee or breakfast before church on Easter Sunday. Let them know you will save a seat for them. Offer to afterwards. Let’s purpose to do all we can, to see people saved and added to the Kingdom. afterwards. Let’s purpose to do all we can, to see people saved and added to the Kingdom.

4. Keep Praying

The job is not done until Christ is formed in them. Pray that they will stand strong in The Lord. Pray that they will grow and mature in Christ. Pray that Jesus would make himself real to them everyday everyday

I am praying that Easter will be a powerful time, with Christ revealing himself to many.

Until next time,
